About Sandcast Jewellery
Hello—and welcome.
This is your place for handcrafted, sandcast jewellery that’s a bit different. Chunky, solid, slightly imperfect (in the best way), and completely one of a kind.
I’m Laura, the goldsmith behind it all.
How It Started
My journey into jewellery making began in 2007, the moment I sat at a bench, picked up some tools, and started cutting into metal.
It just clicked.
There was something about taking a raw material and turning it into something wearable, something meaningful. I was hooked straight away—and I’ve never really stopped.
I didn’t take the traditional route. No formal training, no rulebook. Just curiosity, patience, and a lot of learning as I went.
I’ve Always Made Things
To be fair, this didn’t come out of nowhere.
As a kid, I was always making something. Hama beads, fimo in the oven, encaustic wax, spray paint, way too much PVA glue… if it involved creating (and probably making a mess), I was in.
I’ve always loved the process—taking something simple and turning it into something completely its own.
Jewellery just became the thing that stuck.
What Makes My Jewellery Different
Every piece you see here is made using sand casting.
That means each design is hand-poured into sand moulds, giving it a raw, organic texture that you just can’t replicate perfectly.
No two pieces are ever the same.
Each one has its own character, its own surface, its own little quirks. Proper one-of-a-kind pieces.
Chunky, solid, and made to last.
Made With Intention
I use recycled precious metals in all of my work.
It means I can create something beautiful without adding to the demand for newly mined materials. Same quality, less impact—it just makes sense.
I also use recyclable packaging, because the whole process matters, not just the final piece.
Bespoke Pieces
I also create bespoke jewellery.
Sometimes you’ll come with a clear idea, sometimes just a feeling or a rough concept—and we figure it out together.
There’s something special about wearing a piece that exists just because you imagined it.
Why I Do This
Because I love it.
I love the process, the unpredictability, and the moment a piece comes out exactly right (or even better than expected).
Every piece is shaped by hand, made slowly, and created with care.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t mass-produced jewellery.
It’s made, properly made.
With texture, weight, and a bit of a story behind it.
Thanks for being here and having a look around.
If something catches your eye—or you’ve got an idea for a bespoke piece—I’d love to hear from you.
