Can’t Do Your Bracelet Up? I Designed an Easy Fix (No Help Needed)
Trying to fasten a bracelet one-handed shouldn’t feel like a full-on challenge.
But somehow… it always is.
You’re holding one end, chasing the clasp with the other, nearly there… and then it slips. Again.
Not ideal.
Why Bracelets Are So Awkward to Put On
Most bracelet clasps just aren’t designed with real life in mind.
They’re small, fiddly, and require two steady hands—which is not very helpful when one of those hands is already wearing the bracelet.
So what happens?
-
You twist your wrist at a weird angle
-
You try to balance it against your skin
-
You nearly get it… then lose it
-
Repeat until mildly annoyed
Or you just give up and ask someone else to do it for you.
It Shouldn’t Be That Complicated
A bracelet is something you wear every day.
You shouldn’t need help. You shouldn’t need patience. You definitely shouldn’t need a strategy.
It should just… go on.
So I Changed It
This is exactly why I designed my bracelets with an easier fastening in mind.
And honestly? The fix is very simple.
A larger jump ring.
Yep, that’s it.
No overcomplicated mechanism. No faffing about.
Just a slightly bigger target, so the lobster clasp can hook onto it easily—without the usual battle or ending up doing some kind of weird bracelet-fastening dance.
Why It Works
That one small change makes a big difference.
-
Easier to see
-
Easier to catch
-
Easier to fasten one-handed
No chasing tiny loops. No slipping at the last second.
Just click, done.
Why It Makes a Difference
It might seem like a small thing, but it completely changes how you wear your jewellery.
-
You actually reach for it
-
You put it on without thinking
-
You don’t avoid it because it’s “too much effort”
It becomes part of your routine, not something you put off.
Designed for Real Life
All of my pieces are made to be worn, not just looked at.
That means thinking about the little things—like how it fastens, how it feels, and how easy it is to live with.
Because if it’s not practical, it won’t get worn. Simple as that.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve ever struggled to do up a bracelet on your own, you’re not the only one.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Sometimes, the easiest solution is the best one.
If you’re after a bracelet you can actually put on yourself (without the struggle), you can explore my pieces or get in touch if you’ve got questions.
